Stihl 070 clutch replacement

Image
Clutch replacement Clutch on my stihl 070 broke down. The chain was running all the time even when idling which is dangerous so I needed to replace it. The 3 springs that are holding clutch together become loose and there were some gaps between the carrier and the 3 clutch shoe kits.  Here are all the parts with my new clutch:

Jig's I plan to use for oak

Image
Jigs   Oak is to heavy to rotate or move so I need two jigs to cut quarter sawn borads one for    vertical cuts and one for horizontal cuts. So on the first picture you can see the jig I made    with two longer peaces  of l-profile steel conected with four smaller peaces. Another   smaller steel peace is holding the saw attached to the jig with two large bolts. This jig will   glide on the borad 5cmx10cm (2" by 4") which will be attached to the log. Everything is    welded and looks and feels rigidSomthing like on the picture below.

Boards from the log

Main types of cutting the boards from a log In february this year my brother and I cut down one large oak . In diameter it measures 76 cm /almost 30"/ and in length 200 cm/79"/. Now is time to cut it into boards. We are planning to cut it into 5,5cm /2" 3/16 / thick boards.  I don't know how much do you know about cutting the log into the boards so I will explain you a little bit in the pictures below.

Passion for wood Little bit about myself and this blog .                       Hi my name it Tom and I live in Croatia. Since I have lot of free time I discovered, online of course, my new passion woodworking. First I was checking youtube clips about woodworking and there are ton of them especially from USA and not long after that I was ˝addicted˝ to wood and woodworking and I said to myself you have to try this. Shortly after that I was on ebay buying chisels, saw's, hand planes, router bit's etc. and I am still buying haha. So here I am two years after I made few projects in wood I am writing this blog where I will be posting detailed pictures and descriptions of my past and future projects and  also I will talk about tools I use to get the project done. I will also try to answer any question you'll  have about my projects and woodworking in general so feel free to ask.    Siberian Larch
